Street Sweepers and Utility Trucks Repair For Lake Forest Owners
Public works vehicles are the least glamorous and most continuously used vehicles a city owns, and their bodies wear out long before their chassis do. That creates a real opportunity for structural repair to extend service life at a fraction of replacement cost. A sweeper with a sound chassis and a corroded hopper is a repair candidate, not a surplus candidate, and agencies with tight capital budgets are usually glad to hear it stated that way with a number attached.

Boom subframes, hopper mounting, plow hitch structures and outrigger mounting all take loads the chassis frame was not designed to see in isolation. We inspect those interfaces on every unit that comes in, regardless of what brought it here.

Sweeper hoppers that corrode from wet debris held between shifts
A sweeper hopper is loaded with wet street debris that includes grit, organic matter and whatever chemistry the road contributed, and it frequently sits loaded overnight or over a weekend. That is a perfect corrosion cell. Hoppers thin at the low points and at the seams around the door, and the failure shows as a leak trail behind the unit. Repair means cutting back to sound steel, plating or sectioning, and recoating the interior with a system chosen for the exposure rather than a general purpose primer and topcoat.
Broom and gutter head mounting that takes every curb strike on the route
A sweeper works with its gutter broom against a curb continuously, and the mounting structure for that head absorbs every irregularity, driveway apron and raised joint on the route. Mounting brackets bend, pivot bushings wear and the head begins to sit at an angle, which reduces cleaning effectiveness and accelerates broom wear. Operators notice the broom wearing unevenly. Rebuilding the mounting geometry and replacing worn pivots restores both the sweeping performance and the broom life.
Boom and aerial mounting subframes that must be repaired to the device maker specification
An aerial device or a boom is attached to the chassis through a subframe engineered by the device manufacturer, and repairs to that subframe are governed by their requirements rather than by general fabrication practice. Welding, drilling or reinforcing outside those requirements can invalidate the device certification. We repair the body and structure around an aerial device, and where a repair touches the device mounting itself we work to the manufacturer specification and coordinate with the certifying provider rather than improvising.
Utility compartments where tools and water live together for years
A utility body compartment holds wet tools, fittings and hardware, and the compartment floor is where all of that water ends up. Drain holes plug, seals fail and the compartment floor corrodes from the inside while the exterior door still looks presentable. Every utility body we open has this to some degree. The repair is compartment floor replacement, restored drainage and a coating that will survive the exposure, plus door seal replacement so the compartment stops filling in the first place.
