Cube body joints where two different materials meet at a right angle
A cube body is assembled from FRP panels, aluminum extrusions and a wood floor, joined with rivets, adhesive and sealant. Those materials expand at different rates in the sun and move differently over road input. The result is that the roof to sidewall joint and the rear corner posts loosen over time, rivets work in their holes, and sealant beads split. Water then enters along a long seam. Repairing it properly means removing the trim, replacing fasteners with an oversized pattern where holes have elongated, and re-bedding rather than caulking over a moving joint.
Roll up doors whose tracks bend before their panels do
A rear roll up door is guided by two vertical tracks that follow a curve into the ceiling. Those tracks are lighter than the door and they are what gets bent when a forklift, a pallet or a load shift contacts the doorway. The symptom is a door that binds partway up or drops out of its track under load. Owners replace slats or springs looking for a fix. Straightening or replacing the track and verifying its alignment through the full travel is what actually restores the door, and it is a fraction of the cost of a door replacement.
Cutaway joints where the chassis cab meets a body from a different manufacturer
On a cutaway cube van, the cab was built by the chassis maker and the body by an upfitter, and they meet at a boot or a flange seal behind the cab. That joint moves constantly because the chassis frame flexes independently of the body. When the seal fails, exhaust fumes, water and noise all enter the cab, and the failure is easy to misdiagnose as a window or firewall leak. Rebuilding the joint with the correct boot and a proper mechanical attachment is the repair, and it is worth checking on any cutaway that comes in for other work.
